ACE-IVR 05 : Cable drive speedometer tester with simulation output
Speedo cable tester: the red LED flashes once for every turn of the speedo cable, so you can check that a cable is working.
An output wire also simulates a reed switch, so it can flash an LED or run a low current circuit. It switches to ground and has been used to make various other makes of speedometer drive an Acewell.
Please note it is easily damaged if a voltage is put onto the output wire or it draws more current than a standard LED, and there is no warranty if it is used to drive a speedometer. When used only to test Acewell cable drive sensors the normal 12 month warranty applies. If you are using it as an interface to KOSO, VDO or Trailtech speedometers (Vapor, Vector etc.), diodes and opto-isolators have proved effective at protecting it from voltage coming back from the speedometer.
Connections
Red wire to ignition live
Black wire to battery -ve
Green wire to drive an LED or buffer circuit (no warranty if used)
090 series 2 pin plug - connect to speed sensor
